"To be a Ranger is to sense the sacred trust of upholding all that such a name means in this shrine of football. They must be true in their conception of what the Ibrox tradition seeks from them. No true Ranger has ever failed in the tradition set him." - William Struth

Vanguard Bears Poll on Recent Events

Written by: Admin
Wednesday, 5th March 2014

After polling our members and taking on board their views, we feel it prudent to comment on the ongoing squabbles at our club.

The online poll produced the following results to the question "Do you support the board?"

Yes - 3.25%
No - 8.13%
Undecided - 20.33%
Will wait until after the 120 days - 68.29%

It is with concern that we note the ramifications of the recent Rangers Standard article:
http://www.therangersstandard.co.uk/...alternatives-ignored

We refer to the assurances given to fans by Chief Executive Graham Wallace, as recent as 21st January 2014, during an interview with the Scotsman newspaper where he asserted:

"Without putting a number on it there is sufficient cash in the bank. Come April we'd be confident that the club will have sufficient cash in the bank in order to maintain our operations"

If there was sufficient cash in the bank, why was there a requirement to secure further funding, apparently with critical speed?

Furthermore given the criticism of the lending rate in respect of the security offered, we feel it is imperative Mr. Wallace explains why he feels the loan terms agreed with Laxey Partners are in alignment with competitive market rates, as per his previous assertion.

We also express our disappointment that club business is being aired in the mainstream media and we feel that Mr. King and Mr. Somers have not acted in a manner befitting of our great club – feeding the proven Rangers haters in the media only serves to destabilise the club.

It is also a concern that Mr. King deems it appropriate to conduct an alleged interview with a foreign national who continues to poison and undermine Rangers at every opportunity and who is "tarred with the sectarian brush".

This 'circus' is having a detrimental effect on the club, the brand and the support.

All talk should be about football not infighting, money issues, boycotts and all other manner of negativity.

Therefore we call on ALL parties involved to get round the negotiating table, put their differences aside and settle these issues for the good of Rangers.
